Sony Announces Winners for World Photography Awards 2011

Sony Photography Awards-2011.jpgOver 100,000 images were entered into the Sony Photography Awards 2011 competition from 162 countries across the world. From those submissions, one man was chosen to receive the award for Photographer of the Year - Alejandro Chaskielberg.

Chaskielberg is a 34 year old Argentinean photographer that began his career at the age of 18. To take his winning photographs, he spent two years living with a community of islanders in the Parana River Delta. He became a part of their daily lives and captured some incredible portraits.

"I have been able to present another version of the Parana River Delta and its community that has been photographically ignored throughout the years," says Chaskielberg, who earned a $25,000 cash prize and Sony DSLR gear.
